Your new website is launched and looking great. It's an incredible milestone, and you should be proud of the work.
But the launch day isn’t the finish line, it’s the starting line. A website is a living, breathing asset that needs care and attention to truly drive results for your business.

To help you get the most out of your new site, here are five essential steps to take after launch to start driving traffic, engaging your audience, and converting visitors into customers.
Share about your new website
Don't assume people will just find it. Active promotion is the fastest way to drive initial traffic.
- Social media profile updates and launch announcement: Update your bio links across all platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, etc.). Craft a dedicated post announcing the launch by sharing your website link and pointing to your homepage or a key new page. Encourage sharing!
- Email Announcement: Send a dedicated email to your list. Highlight the new features, a fresh look, or a new product/service you're featuring. A great subject line could be "Check out our new website." Wix has e-mail marketing features that can be used to manage this process.
- Update Your E-mail Signature: Make sure your website link is included in your email signature so every message you send is a subtle advertisement.
Keep your website current
A fast, secure, and functional website is crucial for both your users and search engines Google loves a well-maintained site and values when updates are made to keep your site information current as it shows your site is being used.
- Establish a maintenance routine: Schedule a regular (monthly or quarterly) check-in to ensure all software, themes, and plugins are updated. Maintenance packages are available to assist with support after your Wix website has been launched.
- Monitor performance: Wix offers various ways to view your site analytics. Connecting your site to Google Search Console can also provide more in depth analytics to help to monitor your site perfromance.
- Regularly share on social media - After you have shared your home page on social media by putting the link to your website in a post, each page of your website should also be shared over time and even mutiple times.
- Ads: Consider paid advertising on social media or Google. Google offers $500 off your first campaign when you spend $500. Test a small campaign (search/social/retargeting). Point to focused landing pages and review results monthly.
Start your e-mail marketing and set up automations
The vast majority of your website visitors won't be ready to buy on their first visit. An email list allows you to capture their interest and nurture that relationship over time.
- Create a high-value lead magnet: Have a plan to collect e-mail subscribers even if you don't plan to send out e-mails just yet. Adding a lightbox popup to your site or requesting e-mail subscribers in the footer of your site so that it is on every page can help to build a contact list for when you are ready. E-mail subscriber forms should be short to share quick contact details so that it's easier and less of a commitment than fillng out a longer contact form. Offer a free gift in return for an e-mail. This could be a free guide, a checklist, an exclusive discount, or a useful template.
- Plan your first three emails: Don't let new subscribers hear silence! Plan an automated welcome series that delivers the lead magnet and introduces your brand and services.
- Create automations to tag your contacts with labels to keep your contacts organized have them labeled automatically as their contact information is submitted through the forms on your website.
Create new content for your website
Google and your audience both love fresh, relevant content. A static website quickly becomes a forgotten website. Use your blog, news section, or product pages to showcase your expertise and keep people coming back.
- Blog Strategically: Create a content calendar and commit to publishing on a consistent schedule. Write about topics that answer your customers' most common questions. This positions you as an expert and naturally attracts search traffic.
- Regularly Update Products/Services: Have a new offering? Update the text and images on those pages. Launched a new case study or featured event? Make a post about it!
- Add New Features as You Grow: As your business evolves, your website should too. Need a booking calendar? A membership area? A new portfolio page? Don't be afraid to add functionality as your business needs dictate.
The Hourly Support and Maintenance plans give you on-demand website that can be scheduled when you need it. It is not recommended to make changes on your own. Even things as small as changing out a picture can open your site up to legal risk if not factoring in best practices for SEO and accessibility standards. If you prefer DIY updates, scheduling an hour session is the best route to keep your site functioning professionally.
